Our Thoracic Surgery team is comprised of four thoracic surgeons who work together to provide caring, timely, expert and comprehensive surgical care to our patients in the context of a designated Level I Thoracic Surgery Centre<\/a>. Michael Garron Hospital was designated a Level I Thoracic Surgery Centre\u00a0in\u00a02009.<\/p>\n

Although the team is based at Michael Garron Hospital\u00a0 (MGH), we provide care to many GTA and Ontario communities through partnerships with community and academic hospitals such as North York General Hospital (NYGH), Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH, Barrie ON) and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (SHSC\/ Odette Cancer Centre). Our surgeons are members of the Department of Surgery at the University of Toronto<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Chest Centre was inaugurated in June of 2015. Although\u00a0MGH was designated a Level I Thoracic Surgery Centre<\/a> in 2009, the Centre allows for the further integration and consolidation of care and expertise in one space. This facilitates the journey for our patients<\/a>. Our friendly and patient centered staff is ready to help patients navigate what can sometimes be a difficult and trying process.<\/p>\n
